# ActionButton

> A control whose layout names no action. The application attaches an action to each rendered instance, so one definition serves every row while each row keeps its own state.

> Documents saga a2ui **0.11.0-rc.1** (prerelease). This catalog entry is generated from the package manifests and entry points at source revision [`fb4126c`](https://github.com/MachineWisdomAI/saga-a2ui/tree/fb4126cc5a9ac2e7f9cd916c377d24b237d00bb8). It is published as a snapshot: later source changes do not alter it. Licensed under [Apache-2.0](https://github.com/MachineWisdomAI/saga-a2ui/blob/fb4126cc5a9ac2e7f9cd916c377d24b237d00bb8/LICENSE).

A control whose layout names no action. The application attaches an action to each rendered instance, so one definition serves every row while each row keeps its own state.

Renderers: Lit and React.

## Entry points

| Import | Registry version | Role |
| - | - | - |
| `@saga-a2ui/core/actions/action-button-schema` | `@saga-a2ui/core@0.11.0-rc.1` | Renderer-neutral contract of the control: a strict schema with no action property |
| `@saga-a2ui/react/actions` | `@saga-a2ui/react@0.11.0-rc.1` | React control and action setup |
| `@saga-a2ui/lit/actions` | `@saga-a2ui/lit@0.11.0-rc.1` | Lit control and action setup |

## Static demonstration

Two ActionButton instances in a row of the notes application's layout. Neither names an action. It is a copy of lines from [`examples/pack1-consumer/src/notes-surface.ts`](https://github.com/MachineWisdomAI/saga-a2ui/blob/fb4126cc5a9ac2e7f9cd916c377d24b237d00bb8/examples/pack1-consumer/src/notes-surface.ts) at the pinned revision, not a live rendering.

```ts theme={null}
{
  id: 'note-actions',
  component: 'Row',
  children: ['row-read', 'row-archive'],
},
{
  id: 'row-read',
  component: 'ActionButton',
  child: 'row-read-label',
},
{
  id: 'row-read-label',
  component: 'Line',
  kind: 'body',
  text: 'Mark read',
},
{
  id: 'row-archive',
  component: 'ActionButton',
  child: 'row-archive-label',
},
{
  id: 'row-archive-label',
  component: 'Line',
  kind: 'body',
  text: 'Archive',
},
```

## Usage

* [Component definition, template and instance](https://docs.saga-a2ui.dev/docs/releases/0.11.0-rc.1/guides/getting-started.md#component-definition-template-and-instance)

## Evidence and limits

* The notes application runs with Lit controls and, through a React consumer, with React controls in a local fixture host. The guide lists what each renderer has and has not shown. ([Renderer evidence](https://docs.saga-a2ui.dev/docs/releases/0.11.0-rc.1/guides/actions.md#what-each-renderer-and-server-has-shown))
* In ChatGPT web and Claude web, allowed and refused in-card server requests were observed. ([ChatGPT and Claude](https://docs.saga-a2ui.dev/docs/releases/0.11.0-rc.1/guides/host-compatibility.md#chatgpt-and-claude))
* In the Alexa+ simulator, an in-card server call reached a response but the waiting card did not receive a usable completion in the recorded probes. ([Alexa+](https://docs.saga-a2ui.dev/docs/releases/0.11.0-rc.1/guides/host-compatibility.md#alexa+))
* Package exports and tests establish a contract. Acceptance in a named assistant host is recorded only where a page above says so.
